Not in the slightest. My belief in Lazarus is more of a working hypothesis. For example, when I read "the beloved disciple" mentally I am thinking "Hmm, was this Lazarus who was raised from the dead, or John, or some other follower? How does that impact the point here?" The message doesn't change much, just how I view the context or viewpoint of a possible author.

If it did I wouldn't recommend it. It was only interesting on the bits about Lazarus. I'd probably look to a commentary for more info, maybe later I will.

I am going to have to disagree with his summary. I think it should be footnoted that this passage isn't found in some manuscripts. I just don't see a strong enough case for ditching it completely.

Note this is purely opinion at this point; I reserve the right to change my mind after I read some more on this.
